Every holiday season, we go looking for the people already making Cape Breton a better place. Our Hometown Hero program invites the community to nominate those everyday heroes, and a selection committee of staff and community members reads every single story before choosing a winner. Past honorees have been recognized with a GE Appliances prize package, including a $3,500 kitchen makeover for one recent winner whose work cleaning up and beautifying local neighborhoods inspired the whole community. For more than 20 years, we've sponsored the Schwartz Furniture Ramblers, cheering on young athletes, their coaches, and the volunteers who make minor baseball possible across Cape Breton. Watching this team grow, compete, and bring home provincial titles is one of the proudest parts of being a local business. When the Ramblers play, the whole community shows up.

Every year we ask our community to help make sure no kid goes without a warm coat. Our annual coat drive turns our showrooms into drop-off points, and every single donation goes right back into the community that keeps us going.

Whether it's furnishing the stage for the Cape Breton Partnership Investor Summit or lending a hand at local gatherings, we love being part of the events that bring our community together.
